Tiny Gems — Last updated: April 2026
Tiny Gems is built by Screaming Donkey Studio. We built this app for families, and we take the privacy of children and parents seriously. This page explains what data we handle, where it lives, and what we never do with it.
We collect the minimum necessary to make the app work. Your memories never leave Apple's infrastructure. We have no advertising, no tracking, and we never sell data to anyone.
All data is stored in your personal iCloud accountusing Apple CloudKit. This means your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and benefits from Apple's security infrastructure. Screaming Donkey Studio does not operate any servers that store your personal data.
When you share your family circle with other members, the shared data is stored in Apple's CloudKit shared database — still on Apple's infrastructure, accessible only to the people you explicitly invite.
Tiny Gems is designed for parents and caregivers and is not intended for direct use by children under 13. Child profiles (names, photos, birth dates) are stored privately in your iCloud account. No child information is shared publicly without your explicit action.
When and if public sharing features are introduced, all child information will be anonymized by default (age only, no name or photo) before any content is visible outside your family circle.
If the app encounters an error, a brief technical log entry is saved locally on your device in the app's private documents folder. This log is never transmitted to us automatically. You can share it with us manually if you contact support.
Tiny Gems may send local notifications to remind you of memories (On This Day) or when a family member adds a new Gem. These are generated on-device and do not pass through any external server.
We use Sign in with Apple for authentication. Apple may allow you to hide your email address. The data we receive from Apple is limited to your user identifier, name (on first sign-in only), and optionally your email address. We use this only to identify your account.
You can delete all your data at any time by deleting your account from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This removes all your Gems, kids, and family data from iCloud. You can also manage iCloud data independently in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your iPhone.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
